Years of Research Yield...“A Greener Way To Grind”

A lot of thought and research has gone into the Green Umbrella process.

Concrete grinding and polishing was already a "first choice" in green building, but some of the chemicals used in the process have been dis covered to be damaging to the environment. Others even carcinogenic.

CHEMISTRY was needed that was effective yet environmentally friendly and safe for the con tractor during installation, and for the people who lived and worked in the space afterwards.

EQUIPMENT was needed that was environ mentally sound, safe and both heavy enough and rugged enough to wet grind concrete effectively.

A Mechanical PROCESS was needed that would go well beyond that of applying a poly mer or acrylic sealer to provide shine.

Do You Grind, Hone, or Polish Concrete?

GREEN UMBRELLA is pleased to introduce its new certification program for contractors who grind, hone, and polish concrete. Three different levels of certification are offered so you can choose the one that matches your business model. A GU Applicator uses our concrete treatments for an earth-friendly concrete floor. The next level is a GU Craftsman. In addition to using our concrete treatments, he also uses mechanical process and alternative fuel equipment with a priority on wet grinding. A GU Master Craftsman adds his knowledge and experience in preparing a site and pouring concrete to his skills in grinding and honing concrete using the approved GU Process, Equipment, and Treatments.
